A workshop that can help professionals who work with young people to set up an engaging mentorship program will soon be held, and it will be taking place in Hauppauge.
This East Northport area seminar will offer four hours of training. It will include both presentations and discussion, and has been developed using practices that have proven to be highly effective.
The best practices that will be taught during the workshop will include the use of MENTOR’s “Elements of Effective Practice” set of tools, which contains over 200 templates and other resources that can be helpful in setting up a mentorship program. The planning process and allocation of staff will also be addressed, and when the event draws to a close, the participants will walk away with the foundation for a mentoring program for their own organization.
Taking advantage of a training opportunity like this can help local grass roots organization to better serve their community. Training materials can be produced for the occasion by area Print shops, and these can help the participants to learn as much as they can.
The next session of the “Design and Manage a Quality Mentoring Program” is set to be offered on September 26. It will be held in the offices of Mentor New York, which is at 150 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge.
