Walking tour being offered of historic Murray Hill

The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association (MHNA) has organized a walking tour of the community that will highlight its history and landmarks.

A guide will lead the walkers on a tour of the community, discussing points of interest along the way. As the different buildings and other structures are viewed by the group, further details about the architect who designed them will also be shared.

Many famous people have lived in the area, such as J.P. Morgan, Andy Warhol and the Roosevelts, and information about their contributions to the neighborhood will also be included in the conversation

This walking tour is part of the celebration of the 50th year since the New York City Landscape Law first came into effect, and is being offered through the NYC Landmarks 50 Alliance. It is open to any member of the public who would like to attend. There is a charge of $20 per person, but it is free for members of the Murray Hill Neighborhood Association who have joined the organization since December of 2015. Brochures can be give out to those who take part in an activity such as this to give them further details about different activities that will be held throughout the community.

The event is limited to 15 participants, and those who are interested in registering, or who just want to find out more about the group and what it does, can do so through the MHNA website.
