Murray Hill set for scent-sational experience

While winters in Murray Hill can be icy cold, those who call it home can experience a taste of tropical warmth when they participate in a local activity in the new year.

Those fascinated by fragrance may really enjoy the Natural Perfume Blending session experience at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. It will run for three hours on a late January Saturday afternoon, and advanced registration is required.

Registrants will be spending time in the Garden’s conservatory, which is filled with tropical plants. They can enjoy the various fragrances produced by its flowers and foliage, and everyone will receive a sweet and small nosegay-style flower arrangement to take home. They will also be able to create their own, custom designed perfume blend, drawing in inspiration from the botanicals they view and smell. Tickets are $138 each, which includes a materials fee of $60. The registration system opens next Monday, December 8.

Conservatories, public gardens, and other horticultural venues can offer a respite from the winter cold. Poster printing companies can be helpful partners in spreading the word about special seasonal events and other activities.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden will be hosting this feast for the eyes and nose on Saturday, January 24, starting at 1:00 pm. Anyone who would like to secure their seat can do so by visiting the venue’s website.
