Murray Hill area offers Plant health Care workshop series
Rural, suburban and urban gardeners all have to deal with insects and plant pathogens, and a Murray Hill area activity will provide knowledge they can use to protect their plantings.
The “ Plant Health Care” class series offered by Brooklyn Botanical Garden will provide a deep dive into keeping plants healthy and encouraging biodiversity. While it is open to all, a tuition discount is being offered to members, and there are two start dates to choose from.
During each installment, the instructor will explore various cultural practices that help keep insects and diseases at bay. The registrants will learn how to identify various species so they know which ones are harmful and which ones may be helpful to have in their beds, pots or grow bins. They will be taught how to spot symptoms of disease, and scouting walks in the Garden will be included. Everyone will walk away with a deeper understanding of the principles of integrated pest management (IPM) techniques and how they can put them to use.
While a workshop may offer a lot of learning in a small amount of time, the attendees may be eager to keep on making discoveries after it has drawn to a close. Stationery printers can prepare copies of materials as well as promotional pens for a class or other educational event.
Brooklyn Botanical Garden will be starting its Plant Health Care workshop series on site on June 10th and June 25th. Advanced registration is mandatory.
