Brighton Beach area invited to attend local quilt show
The Brighton Beach area is set to play host to an activity that will celebrate the talents of area quilters by putting their works front and center.
The Brooklyn Quilters Guild will once again be welcoming the public at its annual Quilt Show, and at least 200 examples of these functional works of art will be on display. It will run for two days, and all ages are encouraged to attend.
As well as the opportunity to view and admire the quilts, a raffle draw is in the works, and a silent auction will raise money for a local not-for-profit cause. There will be a pop-up vendor area, and anyone interested can sit in on a workshop if they wish.
Children can take part in activities planned with them in mind, and the featured speaker for the occasion will be Dr. Myrah Brown Green. The topic will be "Piecing Connections: Establishing Personal Meanings Through Quilts and World Symbols."
Many event organizers choose to have a logo design prepared to help build the brand in the local community and further afield. A printing services company will be pleased to help.
This annual demonstration of the needle skills of Brooklyn’s quilting community is scheduled for April 26 and 27 at 163 26th Street. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance by visiting its web listing.
