Humans have been utilizing wool, flax, cotton hemp and other fibers to produce clothing and other textiles, and a Brighton Beach area festival will give a nod to this tradition.
The Kings County Fiber Festival will soon be making its return, and it's scheduled for the Old Stone House of Brooklyn. It will take place on one day only, and this will be its 11th year.
The function is expected to draw a large number of attendees and everyone from fiber artists and spinners to crocheters, knitters, sewists and members of the public who are curious and want to find out more. The event’s tradition of making a positive community impact will once again take place, and everyone can get involved by donating handmade hats, and these will be donated to local programs that help the homeless. The doors will open at 10:00 am, and the activity will run throughout the day.
The lead-up to the winter holiday season is a popular time for crafters’ festivals, markets and other activities. A brochure printing company can be tasked with preparing materials to send out to area households to keep them abreast of what's going on in their own home town.
The 2025 Kings County Fiber Festival will be on offer on October 11th. More information about the activity can be found on its Patch listing.
