Gladys Knight is headed to Reno in late July.
Known to many as “The Empress of Soul,” Knight rose to fame in the 1960s as the lead vocalist in the group Gladys Knight & The Pips. More recently, she appeared as a contestant on the hit Fox show The Masked Singer, in the inaugural season. She placed in third, with the show taking place in 2019.
Her group is also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, while she also has a solo star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Some of the songs for which she is known include “Midnight Train To Georgia” and “I Heard It Through The Grapevine.” Another accolade Knight has under her belt is being named as one of Rolling Stone’s “Greatest Artists of All Time.”
This show has been rescheduled from 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Tickets purchased for either May 23 or December 18 of that year will be valid for this new date. For those who do not yet have tickets, prices range from $35 to $135, the latter being for a show and drinks bundle. The doors will open at 6:30 pm, with the concert beginning at 8:00 pm.
The venue is the Grand Theatre, which is within the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. It is likely that there will be Signs with a letterhead in order to direct the guests to the show. The venue will be following public safety protocols in place at the time of the event.
The show is set to occur on July 31, ending at around midnight.
