Reno venue hosts comedian

A stage inside a Reno venue will see iconic name in entertainment bring her work to a local audience in early May.

Wanda Sykes is a comedian, author, actor, writer, and producer. Working since the early 1990s, Sykes has developed a strong reputation among her peers and critics alike. Her comedic chops have been showcased in many projects, including “History of the World: Part II,” the “Ice Age” franchise, “Black-ish,” “Monster-in-Law,” and “Rio.” Awards Sykes has earned wins or nominations for include the Primetime Emmy Awards, the Daytime Emmy Awards, the American Comedy Awards, the Grammy Awards, and the Golden Globes. As a writer, Sykes has worked with several of her peers, such as Chris Rock and Keenen Ivory Wayans, as well as on multiple major award shows.

Sykes has been named among the “25 Funniest People in America”, as compiled by Entertainment Weekly.

Tickets for the Please & Thank You Tour are priced at $57.34-$188.21, not including Ticketmaster’s fees or taxes. All options fall under standard admission. The venue is the Silver Legacy Casino, which only sells its tickets through Ticketmaster, so interested parties should be wary of sellers on any other site. Stand-up shows are often promoted through poster printing, with the resulting product being distributed through local streets and businesses.

The performance starts shortly after doors open at 8:00pm on Friday, May 3.
