Reno will be bringing a classic Tony-winning musical to a local stage in mid- to late January.
Fiddler On The Roof was at one time the longest running Broadway musical, even receiving a special Tony award, celebrating this achievement. The story follows a family who lives in Russia when a revolution is just around the corner. It has been revived several times since the end of the initial run. Some of the songs include “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “To Life,” “Tradition,” and “If I Were A Rich Man.”
This particular production is headed by Bartlett Sher, alongside the crew that was behind the Tony winning show Oslo in 2017. Hofesh Shechter will be in charge of the choreography. While the show is the same as the Broadway musical, the staging, costuming, and other design elements may vary from those productions to this one. Posters are often made to promote theater shows, sometimes featuring a graphic design unique to the particular theater or production.
The tickets are not yet for sale, but will be closer to the show. There will be eight shows over the course of six days. The final two dates will have both a matinee and the regular evening show and will take place at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm from January 18 to
The venue is The Pioneer Center For the Performing Arts. The run time is about two hours and 45 minutes in total, and the show is not recommended for anyone younger than eight years old.
