A Reno venue is providing its stage to a fun and unique music group for a show in early June.
Pentatonix is an a cappella quintet featuring members Scott Hoying, Matt Sallee, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Mitch Grassi. Maldonado, Grassi, and Hoying are childhood friends. Olusola was added to the group in 2011, alongside former member Avi Kaplan, when the group wanted to be part of the competition show “The Sing-Off.” They won their season, and have kept up the pace since. Kaplan departed in 2017, eventually being replaced by Sallee.
The group’s catalog is a mix of original tunes and covers or reinventions of popular and holiday music. Some of the songs are “Despacito,” “Shape Of You,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.
Pentatonix’s summer 2024 tour will entertain a Reno crowd at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. The venue and artist are using the vendor Ticketmaster to sell passes to the event, which are ranging between $79.50 and $290 in cost prior to fees at the time of writing.
Performers often use a concert as a chance to sell special merchandise to their fans, some of the items will commonly have a graphic design honoring the tour they are undertaking at the time.
The evening of music will be on Saturday, June 8, with doors opening at 8:00 pm.
