Reno stage hosts star comic

A Reno venue is welcoming a comic with a distinguished career for an event in late November.

David Spade is known to most as either an actor or stand-up comedian. He has been working in the public eye since 1990, which is just over 30 years. Spade has roles in projects such as “Saturday Night Live,” the “Hotel Transylvania” franchise, “The Emperor’s New Groove,” the “Grown Ups” franchise, and “Sandy Wexler.” His big break came from his participation in the “13th Annual Young Comedians Show,” a program run by HBO. This job landed Spade his spot on “Saturday Night Live.”

He also has worked as a host, with one of his recent gigs being the game show “Snake Oil.” As a writer, Spade has not only performed his own stand-up specials, but also the TV show “Sammy” and the film series “Joe Dirt.”

Spade’s tour will be visiting the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. Tickets are still available at the time of writing; prices range from $34.50 to $337.61 on Ticketmaster, including VIP options and special seats. Many performers, whether musicians or comedians, will sell merchandise at each tour stop, some of which may feature a graphic design relating to the act, a piece of their work, or the tour itself.

The show kicks off at 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 23.
