Reno outdoor display returns this fall

A popular event is returning once again in 2024, with a planned schedule lasting three days in early September.

The Great Reno Balloon Race is known for being:

“the world’s largest free hot-air ballooning event.”

The festival provides a safe and kid-friendly space where guests can witness and/or feel the magic of the big and colorful balloons floating in the air. Pilots can also take part in a contest where they must navigate their balloon through various target points.

Rides will come with an admission fee. For a group of at least eight, the cost is $5,100. The experience will see participants go as high as 2,000 feet. Buyers of this option will get an exclusive captain and crew, their own balloon, in addition to perks available for the other ticket. These are a toast using sparkling wine and round trip travel to/from Bonanza Casino. The flight will be 60 minutes long. For an individual person, the fee is $425, with a cap at 12. Purchases are available via the GRBR site.

The event is being held at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. The dates are September 6th through September 8th. Many annual festivals will have merchandise with its Logo Design available to buy either during the event or online. The times for day one and two are 3:30am - 11:00am. Day three runs from 3:30am - 8:00am. A media only showing is booked for September 5th at 6:45am.
