This October, an event will offer an alternative to the typical Halloween party. Held in Reno’s Cargo: Whitney Peak Hotel, it is open to all who are age 21 and up, and some special undead guests are on the list for the occasion.
While this fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project may have a “prom” theme, it will not be a typical high school dance. The guests will be made up of the walking dead, and while formal wear is not mandatory, everyone who plans on attending has been asked to arrive rocking their best zombie look.
The evening will include music and lots of dancing, and a prom king and queen will be chosen from the crowd. There will be prizes awarded for best costume, and the most unique look, and the guests are encouraged to get together with their friends to vie for the title of “Best Zombie Horde”. A company that crafts Letterheads can design special award certificates for each of the winners, which can be presented to them along with their prize.
Tickets start at $10 each, and a special drink ticket add on will entitle the holder to enjoy “bottomless” pours of Lagunitas beer. The organizer also noted that while purses are welcome, Backpacks and any larger Bags should be left at home.
This opportunity to enjoy an evening of ghoulish fun will be on offer on October 12. The zombie horde is scheduled to arrive at 255 North Virginia Street starting at 8:00 pm.
