Reno invited to ride for a cause
The sunny days of August can be a great time for a motorbike ride, and one that has been planned for Reno will raise money in memory of two individuals who had a passion for the culinary arts.
According to the planners of this year’s ‘2nd Annual Ride for Rose and Ryan’, the event will pay tribute to Ryan Volker and Rose Scarpa by raising money for a scholarship fund set up in their memory. The route will wind through some of the area's most scenic locales, and it will both begin and end at the Chinese Pagoda at Rancho San Rafael.
When the riders arrive, they will be treated to coffee and fresh pastries, and they can then put their kickstands up and hit the road. When they return, they will be welcome to enjoy a BBQ as well as a silent auction, and they can socialize with the other riders and maybe even win a prize.
Non-riders are still invited to be a part of the fun. Those who are interested can choose between a rider ticket and a non-rider pass, and both include the post-ride celebration and a T-shirt with a unique graphic design. The proceeds from the occasion will be added to the culinary scholarship fund that has been established in Volker and Scarpa’s honor.
August 17 will be the date for the event.
