Racing event to be hosted in Reno

For 2021, the Reno Connector run is set to start in the community this spring.

The Reno Connector Run will include a 10K and a 5K race that will take place on different days. Neither division will be timed, although each race will have courses that are marked as well as starting and finish lines. Runners are welcome to track their time with the smartphone app RaceJoy, which allows participants to keep track of both their own progress as well as the times of other runners. Flyer printing is a commonly chosen method of many event organizers that they utilize to create cost-effective printouts, including a summary of event schedules and rules.

To continue adhering to local health regulations, every participant at the live event must wear a mask. Both the 5K and 10K races will begin in four-wave starts to help make social distancing easier.

Tickets for the 10K race cost $35 per person, and for the 5K they are priced at $30 per individual. Registration fees include a finisher medal, a digitally shot photo of each runner reaching the finish line, and a race bib.

The 10K race is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 10 and the 5K will be held on Sunday, April 11. Both racing divisions will begin and end in front of the Nick Poulakidas Elementary school.
