Music megastar to perform in Reno
A versatile performer who was recently awarded a Kennedy Center Honor will be taking to the stage at a Reno venue in mid-January.
Gladys Knight is a singer, actress, songwriter, and charity founder. She started her performance career at just four years old in a recital, and then as a member of the Morris Brown College choir. At a family member’s birthday celebration, a group known as Gladys Knight & the Pips was born. The band went on to have hits such as “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” and “For Once in My Life.”
As a solo artist, Knight has gone on to cement her legacy even further. As an actress she has appeared in hit shows such as “Baywatch” and “Empire.” Her recording career includes tunes like “Licence to Kill,” “I Hope You Dance,” “Home Alone,” and “This Bitter Earth.” With her husband she created the RHS Community Foundation.
Knight will be performing at the Silver Legacy Casino. Tickets come in between $63.76 and $222.29 on Ticketmaster at the time of writing, and may change closer to the date of the event. Merchandise depicting a graphic design related to the artist is often sold before and after concerts like this. The show is set to take off at 8:00 pm on Friday, January 13.
