Professional paddle sport athletes and water enthusiasts from across the globe will participate in the Reno River Festival this year from June 15 - 17, 2012. The festival takes place in Reno at the Truckee River Whitewater Park situated in the center of downtown Reno.
The event has become one of the top USA whitewater competitions attracting worldwide participants, spectators and visitors. It is one of the biggest annual sporting events held in Reno, NV. Many exciting events are planned including favorites such as the “Run Amuck” which involves a run filled with obstacles throughout the city. Other popular contests include Slalom kayaking, freestyle, and “boatercross”.
Two new contests have been added this year, Splash Dogs and Biggest Little Dog Jog. Splash Dogs is one of the official event organizers and will provide dock diving and swimming contests for dog contestants. Biggest Little Dog Jog provides a fun opportunity to jog with a dog for approximately one mile.
Corporate charities will participate in raising funds for various efforts, as well. A corporate charity raft race is scheduled for Friday, June 15, from 2:00 p.m. –5:00 p.m.
