Yearly comic event attracts hordes of aficionados

Celebrating the fourth running of the event, The 2014 Albuquerque Comic Expo has been a great success again, attracting thousands of people from across the state and further afield.

Whether it was Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, or Pokemon, enthusiasts of every aspect of the fantasy world were out in force. The three-day event, which took place from Friday, June 27 through Sunday, June 29, was a cacophony of fantastically created artwork, figures, and models. With Posters at one turn and Banners at the next, printing services had obviously played a key role in entertaining fans at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Throughout the weekend, fans had an opportunity to get up and close and personal with their favorite comic Books, games, and movies. There were also a few celebrity guests stepping in for the show, headlined by Lou Ferrigno of 'The Hulk' fame back in the 1980s.

Fans were also able to take part in the costume contest, which sees fans of comic Books, known as 'cosplayers', dressing up to look as close as possible to their favorite hero. A slideshow of some of the best examples can be seen on the BizJournals.com Albuquerque page.

Many of the comic book world's best artists were also present, such as Ande Parks, who has worked on titles like Superman and Spider-Man.
