Salsa to make a spicy Saturday splash

The 8th Annual Old Town Salsa Fiesta will come to the Old Town Plaza tomorrow, September 15, and will be a celebration of everything ‘salsa’.

There will be a salsa-making contest that offers guests the opportunity to not only make their own salsa, but to vote as a judge in the salsa-making competition. This competition has been designed to showcase the best salsa recipes in all of New Mexico, all from non-professional cooks.

There will also be a wine-tasting designed to cool the tongue after tasting the red-hot entries and, as part of the festivities, guests will enjoy lively music, as well as traditional dancers in both the gazebo and in Old Town. There are a number of crafts and kids’ activities to keep the little ones entertained. Many of Old Town’s restaurants will be featuring special Menus that can be complemented by New Mexico’s wines. This will be a fun family event, with many activities for everyone to enjoy.

Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to advertise and promote this fiesta to the local residents and the surrounding communities. The event can be attended free and everyone is welcome. There is a $4 charge for those wishing to take and vote on the best salsa recipes.

The Old Town Plaza is located at 200 North Plaza NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This festive event will run from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. To learn more about this salsa fiesta, please visit the Old Town Salsa Fiesta website or call 505-768-3556.
