Conference planned for Native American communities

The Native American Partnership (NAP) is organizing an event that hopes to strengthen support and networks within Native American communities.

The focus of this conference is to help tribal communities to keep themselves healthy. They will be guided on making food choices that help prevent heart disease and diabetes. Families and youth within the community will also be shown how to get better access to health services. Brochure printing can be used to share information about health services.

Families and youth are a primary area of focus at this year’s conference. Their access to direct physical and mental health services will be aided by offering programs for technical assistance, training, and collaboration within the communities. A learning environment will be created to show the young members of the community how to become future leaders.

The other focus of this conference is health and wellness through proper nutrition. People within communities are taking steps towards revitalizing traditional foods and showing other community members how to achieve food sovereignty. The exchange of knowledge and networking planned for this event will help to preserve the health of the Native people and their land for generations to come.

The 2022 Native American Partnership Annual Conference will be held at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque on November 17 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Entry is free.
