Somerville turns glass into beautiful image
A mid-June event in Somerville is giving community members a shot at a different type of crafting lesson.
The Summer Sparkle Workshop from Rescued By Lacey uses resin, paint, and crushed glass to put together a picture inspired by the season. Guests can choose from five options, or craft multiple of them. The images are a Tiki Cocktail Glass, a Crab, a Hibiscus flower, a Gnome on an Island, and an Octopus.
Lacey will lead participants through the process needed to craft each piece. People of any skill level are welcome, and encouraged to attend. Kids are also allowed, as long as an adult is with them. Attendees should dress in clothing they are comfortable with getting dirty.
The price for the glass, octopus, and crab is $45. The gnome is $55. The hibiscus is $65. The pieces will need to cure for several days after the event, but can be shipped for a small additional cost. They can also be picked up. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite. Refunds cannot be given, but the slots can be transferred to others if needed.
The Somerville experience is taking place on June 12th. Flyer printing is often used in promotion of artistic lessons, as the format allows for visual pieces to be included and draw attention to the event. The class will run between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.
