Somerville eatery makes cut on New Jerseys tastiest list

Last month, Inside Jersey Magazine (NJ.com) chose the Somerville Japanese restaurant Shumi as one of New Jersey's best places to eat in 2015.

In fact, Inside Jersey/Star-Ledger restaurant critic Teresa Politano calls this "incredibly unassuming space" among the state's "best choices in Asian cuisine."

Ranked as no. 19 in New Jersey's top 30 dining spots, Shumi excels at preparing seafood, writes Politano. The award-winning journalist and author of the book Celebrity Chefs of New Jersey (Rutgers University Press) recommends readers try the ‘omakase’, a term that at any Japanese restaurant refers to the chef's choice for the night, including both light and heavier fare.

According to Inside Jersey Magazine, the famous chef Craig Shelton says the food at Shumi is phenomenal, adding:

"Many, many, many nights, it brought me to tears."

A full menu for Shumi is available on Yelp.com.

Other restaurants that made Inside Jersey Magazine's cut include Zeppoli in Collingswood, Scalini Fedeli in Chatham, Ristorante Giorgia in Rumson, Razza Pizza Artigianale in Jersey City, and Osteria Giotto in Montclair.

Shumi and its fellow honorees may wish to proclaim this recognition from the state lifestyle magazine by printing a banner, sending out Flyers and coupons via Mailing services, or seeking poster printing services to enlarge and display the full magazine article for customers to read on location.
