The Somerset County Library System will be offering a presentation on famous canals in August at their Somerville branch.
The World’s Great Canals is an informative program that people can attend in person at the Somerville Library. During the presentation, guests will learn about noteworthy canals such as the Canal du Midi and Panama Canal. The presenter will also cover forgotten structures like the Canal of the Pharaohs and New Jersey’s now drained hundred-mile-long canal. The discussion is intended for an adult audience, and seating will be limited for the event.
The program’s presenter will be Michael J. Czuchnicki, a former employee of the American Stock Exchange and AIG. He has written several publications, including Be More Better: Stuff to Know and Use and his follow-up volume Be More Better: More Stuff to Know and Use. Czuchnicki has also volunteered as a third-degree knight with the Knights of Columbus Council and is the current chairman of the Hanover Township Landmark Commission.
The presentation on canals will be held on Wednesday, August 24 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the Somerville branch’s meeting room. All guests must register in advance to attend Czuchnicki’s program. Once the event concludes, attendees are asked to complete an online survey. Libraries that organize discussions similar to this may use poster printing to let patrons know about their upcoming presentations.
