In just a few days, locals can take in a cycling event that is expected to draw a large crowd.
The Tour of Somerville Cycling Series is a cycling competition that has been going on for around 70 years. The event spans three days and sees both professional and amateur cyclists ride through the local streets.
Each day, spectators can gather on the streets to watch the races. Each series has various categories with different starting times. The event will end with the Kugler-Anderson Memorial Tour of Somerville, which is a 50-mile speed race.
Along with the cycling, guests can walk around and enjoy entertainment and family friendly activities. Food vendors, a kids’ pavilion, and music are some of the highlights.
The event is free for spectators. Race registration fees cost between $15 and $65. There will also be cash prizes and medals for top performers in various categories.
Proceeds from the volunteer-run event will go to Arts on Division, a nonprofit organization that helps build togetherness with art. It is likely the organization has used printing services to make Flyers, Signs, and Postcards to promote the event.
The series begins with the John Basilone Raritan Cycling Classic this Saturday, May 23, at 9:30 am. The event begins on West Somerset Street. Then, on May 24, the Bound Brook Criterium will begin at 1:30 pm on Cherry Avenue. The main and final event, The Tour of Somerville, will begin on May 25 at 10:45 am at North Bridge and Main Street.Get a Free Quote for Signs Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Postcards
