The WML Women’s Club will present the 1st annual Leap in the Lake next month. It will take place just a short drive from Somerville at Beach 1 in Rockaway.
As participants brave the freezing water of the lake, money will be raised for the Women’s Club Scholarship. Donations are appreciated and recommended at $5 per each individual, $10 for the family or any amount over and above as our community wishes to contribute.
Adults and children ages 10 and older are eligible to participate. Kids must be accompanied by an adult, and each adult may register two children. A commemorative T-shirt will be given to each registrant.
A pledge sheet is part of registration and will be sent to each participant to obtain pledges from family and friends. The person with the most money raised will win a special WML prize pack.
Everyone should bring their own towels and blankets. Rockaway Township Police and Fire Departments will be at the event to ensure everyone has fun in a safe manner. Only those registered will be allowed on the beach during the Leap in the Lake event time period.
Banner printing is a great way to create informational signage for events of this type that are held outdoors. The Banners can indicate starting points, parking, and other relevant points.
The Leap in the Lake will take place December 13 from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm.
