Priya Kumari will be visiting the Somerville library in November to teach children about festive activities.
Celebrate Diwali: Coconut Ladoos, Story, & Craft is a children’s program at the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey where attendees can experience Indian culture. The activities in the event will include making no-cook coconut ladoos and themed greeting cards. Kids will also get to hear a story from Priya Kumari. The intended audience members for the cultural experience are children ages 3 to 10. Parents must agree to waive the library and its staff of any potential injuries from the program.
Kumari is a children’s book author and the founder of Eternal Tree Books, an organization that wishes to draw more attention to stories from under-represented Asian cultures. Her work has been featured in publications such as the New York Weekly, the International Business Times, and USA Wire. Kumari has written several Books, including My Holi: Colors of Cheer and My Diwali: Lights of Virtue. Many authors are represented by Kumari’s organization, like Komal Garg and Anu Sehgal.
The cultural experience will be on Monday, November 4 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. There is no cost for library patrons to sign up for the event, though registration is mandatory because space is limited. Libraries that host similar activities for kids may use poster printing to share details about their plans with visitors.Get a Free Quote for Books
