La Compagnie recently announced that it has begun airline service between Paris Charles DeGaulle International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. All seats are business class with no coach or first class seating.
Most likely, the airline is turning to a variety of printing services to let those traveling between the two cities learn about the company and its special inaugural fare – an offer it is extending into August.
The airline has a single aircraft, a Boeing 757-200 powered by engines from Rolls Royce, which it leases from Icelandair. The new carrier's own light and dark blue color scheme is painted on the plane with its name spelled out along the fuselage. Features of the plane include more than 70 seats. lie-flat seats in a single cabin, a choice of in-flight meals, and personal use of Samsung Galaxy tablets complete with music, news, and movies.
La Compagnie was created by the founder of L’Avion, Frantz Yvelin, who partnered with former JetAirways and Swissair COO Peter Luethi in October 2013. According to Yvelin, there is a great demand for this type of service and almost €30m (around $40m) was raised by the venture from European investors.
Newark Liberty accommodates a range of airline services of limited nature. Recently, a revived PeopleExpress began service from Newark to Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport.
