He said that this will have a major impact on the region and although it has yet to be determined how many games the stadium will host and the nations involved, Murphy is hoping many games will take place at the stadium, including the final match.

In addition to the 82,500-capacity stadium, possible FIFA Fan Fest sites are Central Park in New York City and Liberty State Park. President and CEO of the Meadowlands Chamber, Jim Kirkos, said that when such events are secured in the region, it demonstrates that the biggest events in the world can be hosted in the area. He added that this will also benefit the many destination spots in the area.
