Programs or projects eligible for funding include:
• those that increase the access of residents to opportunity and improve quality of life, such as costs for sporting camps
• those that support the beautification of neighborhoods, such as street clean-ups or a community mural
The funding can be used for operating costs, such as fixed expenses and staffing. More details about such funding programs and their criteria for awards are often made available with flyer printing.
Mayor Ras J. Baraka said that the best part of this program from Prudential is that the money goes directly to the grassroots organizations and leaders in the city. He added that these people know what is needed most and best for their neighborhoods, and giving them these funds will provide them with the self-determination to inspire a collective future.
