Bistro opens in Newark
Sihana Bistro is now open in downtown Newark, with plans to offer great food as well as initiatives focused on combatting economic and social issues in the city.
Sihana Bistro is on Washington Street across from Rutgers University at the corner of Warren and Washington Streets. It is within Newark Urby, a new mixed-use community in an 18-story historic art deco building. Local print shops can help promote such new establishments and their plans and offerings with flyers and other printed materials.
The owners of the bistro are David Khabuliani, a hospitality expert originally from the Republic of Georgia, and Kreshnik Berisha, a graduate of Rutgers-Newark with a master’s in global affairs. Offered at the bistro will be a blend of Georgian-inspired and Mediterranean cuisine, including khinkali dumplings and pata negra ham in addition to craft cocktails from All Points Distillery in Newark.
Barisha said that this will be more than a bistro but will also strive to create spaces to address the needs of the community. He added that they plan to be engaged in the community and to collaborate with stakeholders and artists that live in the area.
The chief business development officer and director of marketing for Invest Newark, Emily Manz, expressed her pleasure in seeing local entrepreneurs take this important corner and make a significant contribution to the community.
Sihana Bistro will be open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
