Steven Fulop, mayor of Jersey City, has appointed Elizabeth Castillo as the Acting Director of the Department of Finance for the city.
Announcements of such appointments are often made known throughout the community with flyer printing services.
This new department will be responsible for developing fiscal procedures and policies, and tasked with all budgetary management. This is a proactive step on the part of the Fulop administration to address financial hardships and help establish a more stable economic foundation, and alleviate burdens placed on taxpayers.
Castillo has over 21 years of experience in managerial, manufacturing, and governmental roles, and is licensed from the state as a Certified Municipal Financial Officer. Her responsibilities in her new role will be to oversee the Finance Department and its five divisions, which include Payroll, Accounts and Control, Treasury and Debt Management, and Management and Budget.
Fulop said that Castillo’s track record is one of success in every step in her career. He said this is a challenging time but he feels that Castillo will be able to continue the city’s efforts in creating a resilient and sustainable fiscal model for the city for the foreseeable future.
Castillo is a resident of Jersey City and expressed her humility in being selected by the mayor to carry out this work within the newly established department.
