Major movie studio to be built in Jersey City

Mayor of Jersey City, Steven Fulop, has announced that Criterion Group LLC will be building the largest movie studio complex in the state, right here in Jersey City.

The studio, to be known as Caven Point Studios, is expected to be 135,000 square feet in size, featuring 70,000 square feet of sound and studio stages and auxiliary space needed for large scale productions. It will be built on Caven Point Avenue and will serve to preserve the industrial history of the neighborhood.

Banner printing is often used as such sites to make the public aware of projects and their advantages for the area.

The mayor said that there has been an influx of major productions in the city filming largescale productions, which has created a demand for studios with adequate spacing requirements. This studio will bring more production activity to the area and also benefit the city economically, as such projects bring increased employment and play a significant role in the redevelopment of the area, he added.

The principal of Criterion Group LLC, Shibber Khan, expressed his excitement about bringing this studio to the area as it takes the business in a logical step in its growth, and noted that its location is ideal due to its proximity to New York City and the creative community. An opening date of Spring 2020 is planned for the movie studio complex.
