Jersey City expands transportation service

Thanks to Via Jersey City, the leader in TransitTech, and Steven Fulop, the mayor of Jersey City, weekend service is now being provided on the first on-demand transit system subsidized by the public in the state. This expanded service also marks the one-year anniversary of the launch of the system that has provided a low-cost transportation option for residents of the city.

The service will be made available on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will also have a new advertising platform so that travelers can be connected to professional, medical, and commercial opportunities in the city. The advertising will be on Via vehicles and the revenue generated from such advertising will help to support the transportation system throughout the city. A special Logo Design can be used in such advertising to make it more recognizable to riders of the system.

Co-founder and CEO of Via, Daniel Ramot, said that Via Jersey City has changed the approach to public transit and makes resilience, equity, and the environment priorities. Ramot expressed his pride in being able to work with the mayor to be able to introduce innovative digital solutions that increase access to public transit and further its growth in Jersey City.

This transit system enabled by technology has made the service flexible and provides the city with data to make informed decisions about service changes.
