Jersey City and Hoboken cooperate on special artists exhibit

Hoboken and Jersey City recently joined forces for an artistic collaboration that is currently underway at the Hob’art Gallery in Hoboken.

Jersey City Pro Art artists and Hob’art artists are collaborating on an exhibit called DIALOGUE. Although the two groups of artists have worked near each other for many years, they have largely kept to themselves until now.

A meet and greet was held at which the artists of Pro Art and Hob’art worked in pairs and produced creations and impressions based off each other. The results of these pairings will be displayed in the exhibit.

Mollie Thonneson of ProArt and Liz Ndoye of Hob’art curated the exhibit. Artists from Jersey City include Richard White, Robyn Prezioso, Steve Krasner, while artists from Hob’art include Janet Kolstein, Jean Paul Picard, Donna O'Grady.

On July 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, there will be a panel discussion on the topic of the artists’ collaboration. Founder and Creative Director of Nimbus Dance Works, Samuel Pott, Visual Arts Director at Art House Productions, Andrea McKenna, and independent artist Anne Percoco will be the featured members of the panel.

Organizers of this type of event often use poster printing to draw attention to the unique features of such exhibits.

There will be an artists’ reception on July 21 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
