Plant sales spring forth in New Jersey towns
With the spring season now officially underway, several garden club events are planned in the upcoming weekends of May.
No doubt the sponsoring organizations are turning to a variety of printing services to let those in the area become aware of these special events and spruce up their gardens.
The Hohokus Garden Club will be holding its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 17. Located behind the Hohokus Inn on the town green, it will feature native and specialty plants, home-grown perennials, annuals, herbs, baked goods, and plants for the house.
A table with activities for children will also be there, and proceeds from the sale will go towards the horticultural scholarship run by the club. If the weather is bad, the sale will take place the following day.
Also on the same day, at the Ramsey Masonic Lodge in Ramsey, the Women’s Club of Ramsey will be holding its annual Heirloom Tomato Transplant Sale.
Attendees will be able to see more than 90 varieties of tomato plants of the heritage, heirloom and hybrid types, in addition to a wide selection of eggplant, herbs, cucumbers, artichokes, and pepper plants at the sale. Plants will be available in pots in three-inch and four-and-a-half-inch sizes. Proceeds from the sale of the plants go towards the Woman’s Club of Ramsey.
