Hohokus area welcomes new burger joint
The Habit Burger Grill recently opened a new restaurant in River Edge, a short distance from Hohokus, and its second one in Bergen County. The new location was able to add 35 jobs in the community.
In a poll conducted by Consumer Reports, the chain of Habit Burger Grill eateries has been named ‘America’s Best Tasting Burger’. According to Market Partner, Gary Keurajian, the goal of the restaurant is to serve a high-quality product and become the favorite burger of each of its customers.
The Habit Burger Grill opened in Santa Barbara, California in 1969, serving charbroiled hamburgers on buns baked daily from a local bakery. The founders, a young entrepreneurial employee and his brother, used fresh California produce for its lettuce and tomatoes. They later expanded their menu to include other recipes inspired by the beach, such as salads made to order and a fresh-grilled tuna steak sandwich made with sushi-grade albacore. These items remain on the menu today, along with sandwiches, an array of side dishes, milkshakes, and malts.
In addition to the menu, the restaurant also prides itself on its monetary donations to the community. During its opening week, the Grill donated 100% of its proceeds to the Cherry Hill Elementary School, D.A.R.E., and the Alpine Learning Group.
Local print companies are available to assist with materials announcing the restaurant’s opening and its efforts in giving back to the community.
