Mixed-use development project to be built in Fair Lawn

Construction is expected to begin soon on a redevelopment project in Fair Lawn next to a train station in Bergen County.

This project will consist of a Sprouts Framers Market, other retail establishments, and housing on in the Radburn section of Fair Lawn on Fair Lawn Avenue at Plaza Road. The project is to be calls “Plaza Greene” and was approved earlier this year by the borough of Fair Lawn.

The development will have close to 24,000 square feet of retail space, 145 age-restricted residential units, and a Sprouts Farmers Market. There will also be a garage, 299 parking spaces, and several improvements for pedestrians that will feature trees in the streets, wider sidewalks, and updated lighting. Upgraded public areas will also be included that are intended to create an environment around the train station that is more walkable. Also included in the project will be a courtyard on the roof with outdoor rooms, grills, shaded areas, lounge seating, and a media wall.

It will be four stories tall and have lobby areas for residents and retail space on the ground floor. Such sites can attract more community support by using banner printing to announce upcoming projects.

The architects of the development are Minno & Wasko Architects with Arterial as the landscape architecture firm designing the public spaces.
