Information session to offer introduction to CASA and its programs

Children who are in foster care often spend time in the family court system, and that can be a scary experience for a child. The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program supports kids who are going through this, and is looking for Westfield community volunteers who would like to join the team.

During the CASA information session, members of the public will learn more about the initiative and the supports it provides to the more than 500 children who are currently in the county’s foster care system. The planners explained that no special skills are needed to make a difference in a child’s life through this program, and all assistance is welcome.

The informational event will last for approximately one hour, and it will give the participants the details they need to decide if it is a good fit for them. They will also discover the many ways CASA helps young people and the positive impact it can have on their lives.

Offering the attendees who come to this type of function information packages with Brochures and other informational publications can be an important step in helping them to become better informed about a cause. Print shops can provide many types of printed materials that can be used for this, whatever the budget.

CASA of Union County will be hosting this event at 300 North Avenue East in Westfield on February 11. Those who plan on attending are asked to be on site by no later than 6:00 pm sharp.
