The Embassy Suites in Lincoln will host a math-themed convention for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus.
The Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Wisdom in Mathematics (NCUWM) is a yearly event where undergraduates pursuing math-related careers can network with their peers while hearing from professional presenters. The event will feature notable speakers such as Erica Graham and Carol Woodward. There will also be students who will give poster presentations at the conference. Guests can participate in designated social times and networking mixers throughout the event.
Many interesting subjects will be covered at the NCUWM, like careers that use mathematics and how to choose a mathematics graduate program. Several breakout sessions will also be held at the conference. Those who are attending the NCUWM for the first time are not expected to give a presentation, though returning students will be required to present during the convention. Only undergraduate students will be allowed to register and attend the event.
The NCUWM will be held from Friday, January 30th to Sunday, February 1st. The conference registration fee will be $50 per student. All attendees must be 19 or older to participate in the math conference. Lunch and dinner on Saturday, January 31st will not be included in the registration cost. Colleges in charge of similar industry-focused events may use banner printing services to decorate their resource booths and share information with students.
