Youngsville Christmas parade returns again this year

The town of Youngsville will be holding its annual Christmas Parade this year.

The parade will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday at the First Baptist Church and end at 11:00 at Luddy Park. The parade route will follow South College Street to Oak Street and then go onto Oak Street to US 1-A. From US 1-A the route will travel southeast and leave the downtown area.

Those interested in participating in the parade will need to submit an application and fee of $50 to Town Hall. Non-profit organizations will receive a discount of 50% towards the fee. Participants can have floats, be part of a band, or use some other type of festive display.

Parking for spectators will be available at Youngsville Holden Road lot, the national Guard Armory, the Youngsville Library, and the Youngsville Elementary School. Streets around town and in the area will also be closed off or have limited access prior to and during the parade. Maps of such parking areas and street closings are often printed by local printing services for use by the community.

The parade will be held on Saturday, December 4. On Friday, December 3, from 4:30 to 7:00 pm there will be the lighting of the town Christmas tree in the vicinity of the Benchmark Community Bank to start off the festivities.
