Walk and run for Youngsville area
Skylift Garage Doors is partnering with the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Advisory Board of Wake Forest to hold a 5K and 3K family-friendly walk and run next month at Joyner Park. This event is in celebration of National Trails Day and will likely be of interest to those in nearby Youngsville.
Such special events and their fundraising efforts are often promoted throughout a town and neighboring communities with poster printing.
National Trails Day is a timed walk for both adults and children. Those with strollers are welcome to participate in the event but will be placed at the end of the pack to ensure a clear start for runners. Each of the races will be a loop of the paved trails through Joyner Park according to their length.
The entry fee for the 5K race is $40 until June 5 and $45 the day before the race. It is $35 to enter the 3K race until June 5 with a fee of $40 the day before the race.
The proceeds of the registration fees for the event will go towards the maintenance of current greenways in Wake Forest and the development of new ones. The top overall males and female finishers of the 5K and 3K will receive awards in addition to the top females and male finishers in the 5K in several age categories.
