Special holiday celebrations to take place in Youngsville area

Wake Forest will be celebrating the Independence Day holiday with two days of excitement and fun, and many residents of nearby Youngsville will probably want to tag along to these special events.

The Fireworks Spectacular will be held at Heritage High School on Forestville Road. Music will be performed by the Bond of Oz followed by the fireworks later in the evening. This will take place next Monday, July 3. The gates open at 5:30 pm, the band will take the stage at 6:15 pm, and the fireworks will begin at about 9:30 pm.

There will be a children’s parade sponsored by the Wake Forest Optimist Club. This will begin at the intersection of West Juniper Avenue and North Main Street, near the Wake Forest Historical Museum. Participants will line up beginning at 10:00 am and the parade will start at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 4.

Later in the day, the Wake Forest Fire Department and the Wake Forest Women’s Club will be sponsoring Art and More in the Park at Wake Forest Community house from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

As this will be the 50th anniversary of the two-day Independence Day Celebration of Wake Forest, commemorative T-Shirts, sporting a special Logo Design, are also on sale. Attendees who wear the shirt during the Fireworks Spectacular may receive a coupon from Texas Roadhouse if they are spotted.
