Youngsville is planning an Ole Time Christmas next month.
Such special seasonal festivities are often promoted with Flyers and other printed materials created by local printing services.
There will be a decorating contest for both residents and businesses. Those who enter the contest will be judged based on curbside appeal. The categories on which the displays will be judged will be best use of lights, best business, Christmas elegance and traditions, and whimsical fun. There will also be a Mayor’s Choice Award for the Best Overall Decorations.
Entries need to be submitted by Monday, November 28, with judging to take place on Wednesday, November 30.
There will also be a Tree Lighting Ceremony at Benchmark Bank on College Street. Festivities will begin at 4:30 pm on Friday, December 2. Awards for the decorating contest will be announced during the ceremony at 6:00 pm.
The annual Christmas parade will also take place this year. The parade will start at the First Baptist Church, travel down Main Street to Highway 96E, turn on Pine Street and return to the Youngsville Elementary School. Local Print shops often help in printing maps of such parade routes. Parking will be available at Youngsville Elementary School, Luddy Park, the National Guard Armory, Town Hall, and the Youngsville Library.
The parade will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 3 and end at 11:00 am.
