A parcel of land that covers just over 64 acres in Youngsville has been purchased by ARS Development of Raleigh.
The property is behind a shopping center anchored by Food Lion and is near the intersection of N.C. Highway 96 West and U.S. Highway 1.
President of ARS Development, Hampton Smith, said the company is planning to build a housing community with 434 new residences. It will consist of 183 Wrenn Farms, which are townhouses; 179 Wrenn Villas (townhomes); and 72 Wrenn Apartments (garden-style apartments). The land was purchased from members of the Wrenn family. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform the community of such upcoming projects.
Smith added that the proximity of the site to U.S. 1 and the short drive to Raleigh are appealing to commuters in addition to the downtown of Youngsville which is growing and expected to promote additional entertainment and dining options. The prices are considered to be affordable with the projected price range for the townhomes is in the upper $200,000 range to the mid-$300,000 range.
NVR Inc, the parent company of Ryan Homes, will be partnering with ARS on the townhouse part of the project. A general contractor is still needed for the apartment units.
Smith said that the apartment building and the first lots of town homes are expected to be completed by Summer 2024.
