New commerce center coming to Youngsville

Ground has been broken by Summit Real Estate Group, based in St. Louis, on the new North Commerce Center on US 1 in Youngsville.

The campus spans 1.4 million square feet and Summit is planning to spend $164 million on the development in three phases. The center is in a unique position to serve North Raleigh and the growing households and businesses along the corridor of US 1.

When completed, The US-1 North Commerce Center will have five warehouse buildings that will be able to accommodate multiple tenants. The buildings will also have clear heights of between 32 and 36 feet, and are designed to attract service companies in the industrial, manufacturing, and distribution sectors. Managing director of capital and investor relations at Summit, Matthew Lederman, said that the project has received strong support from the county government since its inception.

The marketing of these buildings will be handled by Foundry Commercial. Such companies can turn to local Print shops to help with the creation of Booklets and Flyers, which often help promote such a complex to the appropriate industries.

The first phase of the development will consist of two Class A buildings with depths of between 210 and 260 feet, and truck courts of 185 feet that will include spaces for trailers. Construction of these buildings is expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year.
