Holiday festivities to come to Youngsville

Youngsville will be celebrating an Ole Time Christmas next month.

Such towns can turn to flyer printing to help promote seasonal events like this to encourage participation and attendance.

There will be a business and house Christmas decorating contest. Judging will be based on curbside appeal only. Entries can be submitted in one of four categories—residential, business, people’s choice, and mayor’s choice. Entries for this contest need to be submitted by Monday, December 2 at 4:00 pm to the Youngsville Town Hall.

Awards will be given at the Tree Lighting ceremony, which will be at Benchmark Bank on S. College Street. The festivities will begin at 5:30 pm, and the awards will be announced at 7:00 pm during the lighting of the tree. This will be next Friday, December 6.

The Youngsville Christmas Parade is a well-known and treasured event of the holiday season. This long-running Christmas parade goes down Holden Road and Main Street, ending on Youngsville Boulevard.

Fees for registration for the parade are $25 for a non-profit organization, farm equipment, or antique cars; $50 for a business with or without walkers and a float; and $100 for car and motorcycle clubs. Elected officials, school bands, and government agencies need not pay a fee to participate in the parade, which will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 7.
