A charitable run will be returning to raise money for agriculture-related needs this fall.
The run is planned by the Union County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association. People can get involved either by trail running or walking.
The event starts in the morning when people will come together at the complex. The run will take them on a clearly marked path and the course is planned to suit different levels of fitness, making it suitable for both runners and people who walk casually. People participating can appreciate Union County's natural surroundings while pushing their limits physically.
Besides the run and walk, there are many activities and attractions on site. People who make crafts will put up booths to present and sell their wares. There will also be local musicians performing live all through the day. Flyer printing for an upcoming event of this type tends to list details about the performers scheduled to appear.
The Wild Turkey 5k Trail Run and Walk has a charitable side too. Usually, the money raised from this event is given to help local community projects and organizations. These projects are often to do with horticulture and educating people on the environment, which matches with the Master Gardener Volunteer Association's goals.
The Wild Turkey 5k Trail Run and Walk is set for Monday, September 23. It will begin in Monroe at the Union County Agriculture & Special Events Centers.
