Deputy Dash 5K returns to Monroe

The Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) Deputy Dash 5K Trail Run will return to Monroe this November, combining a community race, vendor expo, and fundraiser for the UCSO Foundation.

Created by Echo Sierra Tactical, the event is in honor of Sgt. Jeff Greene. Proceeds from the race will help the UCSO Foundation and its work assisting the sheriff’s office through education, training, and other programs.

The trail race will begin at 9:00 AM. Participants will receive a finisher medal, race bag, UCSO merchandise, coupons, and raffle tickets. Extra raffle entry will be provided for purchase.

After the race, attendees can visit an expo featuring local sellers and meal trucks. A separate race expo will also take place on Friday, November 13 from noon to 7:00 PM, where runners can pick up packets, shop for race Apparel, and purchase their raffle tickets.

Registration for the in-person 5K currently costs $35, while the virtual 5K costs $30. Prices increase after this Sunday, October 25. Virtual participants will receive a finisher medal.

Limited-edition challenge coins honoring Greene and event T-Shirts will be provided for purchase. Organizers of community races often use banner printing to list sponsors and provide registration information.

The run is scheduled for Saturday, November 14 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Simpson Event Center, 307 Cultivation Circle.
