Odyssey ClayWorks in Asheville will hold a summer class for children on how to make food-themed clay creations.
Claying With Your Food is a week-long summer program where kids can learn about ceramics while participating in fun projects at the Odyssey ClayWorks studio. Children who take part in the class don’t need prior experience with clay, and all campers will get to use the pottery wheel to make bowls or plates. Be Rose Snyder is the instructor for the summer camp. She has interned at The Clay Studio of Philadelphia and graduated from the Moore College of Art & Design.
Odyssey ClayWorks is an art studio and ceramics school that aims to use its lessons to inspire artists of all ages. The director of the organization is Gabriel Kline, the author of Amazing Glaze: Techniques, Recipes, Finishing, and Firing (Mastering Ceramics). Tyler Anderson is the co-director of the studio. Many classes are offered at the art school, including Pedal to the Metal and The Handbuilder’s Hangout. People can use the studio for private lessons and parties.
The summer art program will be held from Monday, July 28th to Friday, August 1st. Each day of camp will last from 9:00 am to noon. The cost of the camp is $285 per student, and all children must be between 6 and 10 years old. The class can accommodate 18 participants. Art studios that host similar summer programs to this can use poster printing to advertise their classes to families.
