Kalispell to host talent competition

“Montana’s Got Talent: The Search for Starlight” will be coming to the Wachholz College Center in Kalispell next month.

This will be an opportunity for residents of Montana to showcase their talents and is open to people of all ages and talents from dancing and yodeling to singing and mixing music. Such special contests are often promoted throughout a state with poster printing.

The competition has partnered with Starlight Academy, a non-profit organization whose goal is to enhance music education across the state. This non-profit was started by Halladay Quist, a producer of Montana’s Got Talent, who discovered that few schools in the state had music teachers.

The launch of the non-profit will be in the spring and the talent competition will be a fundraiser for the organization. The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of $5,000. Second place will get an opening spot for a national act at Abayance Bay while third place will earn a record demo at Berry Grass Studios. The last prize is two tickets to the Under the Big Sky Festival.

The panel of judges for the competition includes those who have had roles on Broadway, talent managers who have worked with world-renowned performers, and a member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Montana’s Got Talent will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday October 26. Tickets can be purchased from the Wachholz College Center.
